By Ed Erickson - Autumn Breeze Kennel
Exposing young pups to birds early is a real key to building the foundation for a quality bird dog. It is a expense that will reward you for years to come. You will need to purchase some Quail or Chukar to achieve this. Cast the pup off into the wind so it has a good opportunity to smell the birds. The pup will catch scent move in to investigate the wonderful smell and the bird will take flight with the pup chasing the bird. With this exposure your pups natural instincts come alive along with building the pups desire. Soon the pup will associate fields are a place to have fun and find birds.
